Day Trips on Millie

Millie, our 70ft narrowboat, enabled us to provide day-trips for up to four disabled persons at a time – each accompanied by a responsible carer. Access was assisted by the built-in platform lift for wheelchairs and the boat is thoughtfully fitted out to cater for most needs (including a purpose-designed disabled toilet).

In return for a donation from other Rotary clubs, we took one (or more) disabled person(s) along with us for a day trip. All such donations were entirely for The Llangollen Canal Boat Trust, who allowed us to have free use of Millie for the duration of the project.

Several Rotary clubs reserved such trips.

We did not have a fixed “price”, but stated that we hoped for a donation of the order of £100 for one person and their carer to enjoy a day trip, with greater sums gratefully accepted.
